Handle

    I have an application I developed that ties a database to entities in
    AutoCAD using the entity Handles.

    I've noticed, however, that when I do a save-as or copy the file, that
    sometimes the Handles for the entities in the newly created file have
    changed. Sometimes the handles seem to remain the same.

    Does anybody know the "rules" autocad applies for when these Handles are
    adjusted or changed when creating copies of an original drawing?



    This is exremely important for me since I wish to be able to create back-ups
    of my drawings that can still tie into the database!
