Graphics card problem or ????

Draw a circle using continuous Linetype. Modify its Lineweight to say
    0.5/0.7mm thick.

Select LWT to reveal the Lineweight on screen.

Does the circle now look as though it has equispaced line weights. By this I
mean 4 sections at the revised 0.5/0.7 weight and 4 smaller sections at what
appears the default weight. These are spaced 90 degrees apart.

Now print the circle.........does the print show the same effect.

We have 4 comps at work all running Autocad from LT 2000i, full 2004 and LT
2004. All show this problem, all have different graphics cards and all are
    different specification machines.

My home computer shows and prints the same problem with LT 2000.

    Any thoughts......what is it

    0.5/0.7mm thick.

Is that "or" or "divided by"?
No, but pixels are rarely perfectly square and getting it right on the
    diagonals is even trickier.

How big is the circle on screen? Have you REGENned? How many segments are
    you using?
Nope, don't understand the problem well enough and I don't think I'm seeing
    it anyway.

  4. Viewres? I don't understand all the problem parameters. You're saying it
looks wrong onscreen (yes?) but prints out correctly (yes?).

    to try and answer all

errors appear at diagonals (45 degrees to horizontal)

I dont believe its anything to do with resolutions

    0.5 or 0.7 thick

looks wrong on screen and prints out wrong (WYSIWYG)

Looks okay on either 15" or 20" monitor in A2004.
But, when I change lweight back to Bylayer, a short section remains
displayed with width at each quad point.
    Prints okay though.

Put the "at" in the gap.

    They aren't remotely comparable dots.
