Didn't realize you can get an attribute into an xref with express tools but
now that I have it in, I can;t get rid of it.

    Here's how I did it.
create an an attribute in a drawing,
    bmake it to a block
make a few copies of the block
use the convert block to xref function in express tools

now you can edit each of your xref attributes - BUT... how do you delete
them now ( the attribute doesn't show up in the xref file and when you try
to refedit, it won't let you select the attrribute to edit it (obviously the
attribute data is not stored in the xref file so how do you get to it?

  2. OUCH. I guess you won't be doing THAT again.

Is the original BLOCK still defined in the drawing? If so,
depending on how many XREFs you have, you could try purging first, then
    detaching and reattaching.
    (That's just a guess.)

  4. In the worst case, you always could BIND and EXPLODE it.
    A real mess!
