Good driver for printing rasters??

Does anyone know of a good driver that prints rasters (at a grayscale) as
    well as AutoCAD linework??
I've been struggling with our OCE 9600 and OCE 9400 drivers in conjunction
with the worst piece printing device invented by man (ReproDesk) and nothing
seems to work the way I would expect it to.

    I.E. a 36"x48" sheet shows up as 63"x96". WTF??!?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks in advance!

  2. What is the problem you are experiencing, which drivers do you use (hdi,
Windows), what version of Reprodesk, what version of AutoCAD?

    AutoCAD 2005
    ReproDesk 4.21 with the 9600
Problems: Rasters don't plot grayscale even though their color (mapped to
the CTB) would indicate otherwise; when PLT files are processed in
ReproDesk, their resulting size is NOT what it should be... E.X. a 24x36
sheet sometimes ends up being much larger after the PLT file is processed
AND, it often shifts off the sheet.

As for drivers, I've tried some HP, Encad, OCE and a few others that I can't
remember right off the top of my head.

  4. Reprodesk 4.21 is pretty old and has problems with HPGL/2 files that are
created with AutoCAD 200X, so update to the latest version (4.30.6, I
believe). I recommend the use of the (Oce or HP) drivers that are supplied
with AutoCAD (HDI). As Dean says, the CTB has no influence on the raster
    images.

(This is all new to me, so please be gentle)

For what it's worth, I've been using TIFs. Should I think about changing to
    a different file format??

I've found out how to make my raster images plot as a background (gray-ish).
I've been using TIFs as the file of choice, but I've recently switched to
JPEGs. The reason being: I couldn't adjust the properties of my TIFs using
the image properties adjust dialog box.

    Thanks for the feedback guys!
I was always under the impression that the output of images was controlled
    by CTB files.

    | I took this screen shot from Microsoft Photo Editor.
    | This is typical of all of my raster images (strictly black and white) and
I can't change the settings in the Type drop-down.
    | I get an insufficient memory error message.
