global orientation

    I clip-copied a polyline from a client's drawing and pasted it on my
    drawing. Now my blocks and text come in at 90 degrees. I noticed the UCS
    icon X-axis is pointing down, but when I change it, it doesn't make a
    difference

    Try wblock and insert.

    Also, I think, the rotation angle of text is kept with the text and is referred to the ucs; not the wcs. Without seeing the drawing and working with it, you have not supplied enough info.
