g_m * r_ds determination with Analog environment

Discussion in 'Cadence' started by J. Patrick Bedell, Sep 30, 2008.

  1. Hello,
I am using DFII 5.0.41 to determine the behavior of PMOSFETs and
NMOSFETS for varying V_ds and V_gs. I am sweeping V_gs and using
parametric analysis to vary V_ds, so that I can find g_m for various
values of V_ds. I would like to find g_m and r_ds simultaneously in
the Analog environment, but I only know how to use math functions on
the curve that is being swept in the initial analysis (in this case
V_gs), and I'm not sure how to use waveform analysis on the results of
    the parametric analysis.
Can anyone help me to determine g_m * r_ds within the analog
    environment?
    Thanks!

    Patrick

    Hi Parick,

Have you ever looked at doing it with an ocean acripts ?
The data you are loking for are actually available from the dcOp
    analysis.
There are some examples in this forum, please make a search. There is
    one thread for you.

    Assuming have understood your question.
Otherwise, Please don't hesitate to back again.

    Hope this help anyway.
    Cheers,
    Riad.
