Freeware alternative to Batch Plot in ACAD 2002?

Batch Plot seems very primitive, like it's a GUI for a script writing
routine. I don't understand why when plotting multiple viewports, it has to
keep reopening the drawing, nor why it can't use named pagesetup properties.
For example, if I want to print multiple viewports to 11x17, I use the 11x17
page setup definition-but it requires me to make the printer the default and
to make the 11x17 paper size the default. That doesn't happen when printing
in ACAD. Trouble is, I can't just print all my layout tabs in ACAD and
    assign a pagesetup.
Any suggestions for an alternative? Don't suggest ACAD 2005-that's not in
    the cards.

No thanks-this is for daily casual use. Any way in 2002 to assign a saved
page setup (already changed all the pagesetups to extents instead of layout
to facilitate plotting to fit) to all the layouts when plotting all the
layout tabs? That's really all I want.

You are really limiting your options because of the freeware requirement. My
solution was the best $30 I ever spent.

    try Hurricane http://www.74mph.com/

The demo is the full program except it will only batch 5 drawings ...i
    think....

I am not a programmer and found the support to be A-1 and the program saved
me a ton of time! The program is $60

You will need to use third party software.

Our program Multi-Batch can do this and a lot more. It gives you the power
of AutoCAD's full version utilities, Batch plot and ScriptPro in a much
easier to understand and use single package.

It has five wizards for creating new routines including two for plotting,
plus plenty of standard routines to get you started.

A free demo of Multi-Batch can be downloaded from http://www.multi-batch.com
