Fixing a profiles in the registry

Okay, here's my situation. The IT guy here installed autoCad 2005 on
machines under his login name. Then copied his user profile to the default
user profile. Thought that would be a good way for users to inherit the same
cad settings. Unfortunately, what wound up happening is when you load a
profile, the support directories that are user specific

    ie C:\Documents and Settings\Johnny.Dissappointed\Application
    Data\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2005\R16.1\enu
do not reference the user. they reference the IT guys login

    ie C:\Documents and Settings\Tommy.Informatron\Application
    Data\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2005\R16.1\enu

Importing a profile that's supposed to reference the user's login name
doesn't correct it. It seems that the registry settings take precedence. So
i wanted to create a reg file to fix it.

I found the profile info under:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Autodesk\AutoCAD\R16.1\ACAD-301:409\Profiles

And found all the references to Tommy.Informatron, and wanted to change them
to the current user. I thought i could export out the key, delete it. then
reimport the revised key with a variable for the username.

    I've tried, %USERNAME% ; <username.> ; <User Profile Setings>, but they all
put those actual variable names into the support path.

What do i have to do to make the registry or the arg reference the current
    username?

I'm hoping a reg hack will fix this, otherwise, we'll have to do a reinstall
    on many machines. (sigh)

    TIA

Why not tell the guy who did this to completely remove autocad and start over
    with proper user name?

Tell the IT guy that at the time he create a user name within XP users, he
must give the user ADMINISTRATOR rights (only for the purpose of the CAD
instalation after the installation is complete he must turn the right to
POWER USER), them the IT guy must login under the user name and install
autocad, set all the CONFIG settings.

that way all the setting will be under the name of the user not the IT guy.

    or

Change all the setting from scracth (options), but you do not need to
    reinstall autocad.

It's okay for Mr IT to install the app, but not okay to copy his profile to
    the default user profile.
So he's learned his lesson, and correcting it for new installs, the question
is a simple way to fix current installs.
That's what the reg hack is for, but i was hoping of using a generic reg for
    all users.
I guess I'm SOL for that possibility.

Looks like i'll have to open the reg file, change the USERNAME to the
current user's login and import the REG settings, for each machine. Delete
all the other profiles from the machine and hope that fixes the problem.
