Filled Text?

Discussion in 'SolidWorks' started by Tony Martiloni, Jan 30, 2006.

  1. How can you fill the text with color? I couldn't find anywhere to fill the
text with colors. I can only change the size and font, but not the color.

  2. Thanks, John.

No. I am talking about the outlined text. When I use the Sketch -> TXT and
type some letters. These letters shown are outlined. I don't want the
outlined text; I want the text to be what we normally use. I can change the
font and size of the test but I can't change the text from outlined text to
normal pure black text. I can't find that function. It is so frustrating.

Are you really just trying to make notes? (Insert, Annotations, Note).
Sketch text is for a specific purpose, which is generally to make 3D
    solid text geometry.

If you were in a drawing you could use the solid hatching to hatch
dissolved sketch text, but that's silly. If you were in a drawing you
    would just use a note.

If all you want is some color in a solid filled in text, just make a
solid feature out of it, which is how sketch text is meant to be used.
Better yet, just use the planar surface function and then color the
surfaces. Maybe offset it slightly from the face of the model so it
doesn't get that crazy mottled appearance you're sure to ask about next.

    good luck.
