Is there an easy way to change the file name of loads of drawings in one hit. I jumped the gun a bit a produced 150 drawings covering a site before I was told the job number was changing for the next phase of work. I've changed everything in the drawings and now I'm left with the actual file names to deal with. I'm starting now with ctrl v so you've got until I finish to come up with an idea!

    http://www.fauland.com/.

    I use Power Desk http://www.v-com.com/product/PowerDesk_Pro_Home.html

It lets you add notes to files, change the color of folders, open zip files,
zip & unzip, encrypt files and do multiple renames, CompUSA $33.95.

You can get an Express version for free @
    http://www.v-com.com/download/index.html
I don't know if the Express has the multiple rename. But I think it does.

go to 'run' in windows, type cmd, cd to directory with files, ren name.dwg
1-name.dwg. For example. See windows help file for more info.

You've probably finished by now, but another program to consider for
    future needs, Rename-it V3.11
    http://www.freewareweb.com/file4.html
Very powerful, has a "preview" button.

It's all over now, but for future reference... IrfanView can do this, and that's something that many of us have installed already.
