Are there any programs out there that will allow you to edit .dcl files
graphically? Sort of how Visual Studio .net does some things! Maybe
something simple? Thanks much in advance.

Check the pn.classifieds newsgroup, there was a post yesterday for
    "VisualDCL 2005 Guaranteed Bug Free"

Are you kidding, that was the worst attempt and reinventing the wheel.

Personally, I use to use PROTOBOX but everyone else is now moving toward
    ObjectDCL.

    Check www.ObjectDCL.com

I tried Visualdcl and there's nothing visual about it...

If you use the small version of ObjectDCL it's only $19 bucks and does far
    more than the other wantabe...

    My $200

Now, if you are done..... I never said I was advocating such tools, I
was only answering the OP question. BTW, what happens to all of your
ObjectDCL dependent code if ObjectDCL is not updated for future versions
    of AutoCAD?

    I knew there was a post yesterday...thats why I commented on it's
    stability...because I tried it...very disappointing...

Well they've been around longer and have been updating for future
    development.

what happens to all of your ObjectDCL dependent code if ObjectDCL is not
updated for future versions of AutoCAD?

That'll be the last version of AutoCAD for me . . . seriously.

I responded the same way you did a few years ago, and it's yet to disappear,
and more and more developers are joining Objectdcl....

    LOL :)

It will have to be... until you rewrite the ObjectDCL dependent code,
unless of course the ObjectDCL source is released.

I don't know too many companies that are planning to "not be here".
Things happen every day. Good luck.

  10. Hi David,

Autodesk seem to have made it fairly plain that Lisp is in "maintenance"
mode. I can't imagine them spending any money on enhancing it.

Object DCL is the clear leader for anything beyond plain DCL.
I am sure autodesk is going to buy them out in the future and call it a feature
    like Vital LiSP

  12. What do all the VB6 supporters say about the .net transition?
No language is "here to stay" and if Adesk drops lisp, some other cad program will rise up real fast.
If we are faced with starting fresh on customization, Adesk will lose big.
They know that though and maybe even like it.
