Faint lines on hide plot

    I am using 2002 with a 450C plotter. When I plot a paperspace object with the viewport properties hide plot option set to yes, the plot is complete, but all the colors (including black) are plotted as if they are screened (faint). I am using ctb plot styles.
    Strangley, if the hide plot option is set to no, the plot is fine and all the colors are vivid, but obviously all hidden lines are shown.
    Any suggestions to correct?
    Any help would appreciated.
