    Right from the help files:

    FAS and VLX files are compiled AutoLISP® files that were created
    with Visual LISPT. FAS files contain a single compiled AutoLISP
    routine, whereas VLX files contain multiple routines. Refer to
    the Visual LISP documentation for more information about how to
    create FAS and VLX files.
