    They used to work
Express file entered in support file search path
    Keep getting 'unknown command' notices
When any command lisp is loaded manually, so I know it is in there,
a message of 'error: no function definition: ACET-ERROR-INIT'
What might have gone wrong any ideas
    Thanks

Which revision of AutoCAD are you using? Try going to Tools, Customize,
Menus..., and on the Menu Groups tab make sure the Express menu group is
loaded. If it doesn't say Express in the box, then you'll have to add it.

I loaded the express tools .mnu into the menu groups and was getting hopeful
my frustration was over, but I'm still getting 'unknown command' for all but
the lisps I have manually loaded and they still give
    'error: no function definition: ACET-ERROR-INIT'
This all seems to stem from reloading Acad after formatting hard-drive
    I must be missing something
Thanks for your help but any more checks I could make?

I think you have to load the .mns file (acetmain.mns?).

You don't *place* express tools in support file search path. You INSTALL
them like any other program. Assuming of course you are using the express
tools version that is compatable with you Acad version.

The express tools are those that came with Acad 2000 and I moved them over
into 2002 when I upgraded so I've had them a while now and as I said before
they did work so I don't think compatibility is the issue.
As far as 'loading' them and not placing them, the menu is incorporated in
my own menu set-up and I have the EXPRESS drop down menu at the top and can
open any of the express toolbars complete with proper icons but when clicked
on they give the replies as I have stated
Sorry to rebut your suggestions so far but I don't have any solution as yet

As stated by S. Scalise the Express Tools menu may be there because you
backed up the files, then "moved" them back into their proper spots in
the Support File path. But the tools themselves will not work until you
run the Express Tools executable file (exe) that comes on the AutoCAD
CD. It does not automatically run when you reinstall/install AutoCAD.
The executable for the Express Tools is ususally in another folder on
    the CD.
You can move mnu, mnc files that you backed up until you are blue in
the face, but the Express Tools will not install correctly until the
Express.exe is run from the Support folder on the original AutoCAD CD,
    usually CD1.

This is only on 2005. Any release before this is different and you have to
load the acetmain.mns file, which is different from the .mnu file.
