It seems that Express Tools ('04) has some sort of reactor going on, to autoload itself whenever a file is loaded (but with no regard to the LISPINIT setting).
Anyone happen to know which reactor this is, or maybe a way of determining which one it is?

  2. Did you remove the Express folder from your Support folders?

i've tried renaming the acetauto.lsp, which just generates an error. swapping out the file for an empty one doesn't really fix the situation, because when will the real one be replaced?
i need to find what is trying to load acetauto.lsp and disable it.

  4. Remove the Express folder from your AutoCAD support folders. It is that
    simple.
