Exporting to DXF problem

Whenever a coworker exports a DWG to DXF it adds the DWG extension to
the end (example 12345.DXF.DWG). Anybody have a fix for this?

    Thanks

Seems like your friend saves the file and renames it as "12345.dxf" but the
saving format is dwg, and so, Autocad saves it as "12345.dxf.dwg"

Make sure he checks the right extension in the extensions rollout in "save
    as".

    Hi-

That's not what's happening. I've tried it myself on her machine.
SAVEAS DXF and it puts the DWG extension after the DXF extension.
Strangest thing I've ever seen in Autocad and I've been using it since
    v9.

When you SAVEAS DXF, then try to exit, AutoCAD prompts you to save as a
DWG. Say no to that prompt.

What DT says says is that he saves to DXF, but autocad renames it to
DWG (adds the extension). We still don't know if he's saved a DWG or a
DXF. That would be a starting point·

    Here's the process

    File>
    Saveas>
    Name the dwg (ex: TEST)
Select .DXF from "Files of Type" drop down menu
    Click the Save button

Find the file from Windows Explorer and here's the result: TEST.DXF.DWG

    I'm at a loss!

    Robert,
We've tried both Saveas and export...neither works as it should on the
    coworkers machine.

    Ian,

Just had her try what you suggested. Nope...didn't work.

    Thanks anyway,
