When I exit AutoCAD R14, running on Windows XP Pro, I get the following
    error message:
    ________________________________________________________________
    acad.exe - Application error

The instruction at "0x008b3b9e" referenced memory at "0x03ad31dc". The
    memory could not be "read".

Check on OK to terminate the program.

Any idea why this has started happening?

    thanks,

    Neil

    Neil,

Could be a hardware issue; a bad memory stick possibly.

Check your page file (virtual memory) to make sure it's large enough. With
Acad running and maybe a few more programs, open Task Manager (right-click
the task bar) and click on the Performance tab. Look under PF Usage. If
this value is too close to your pagefile size, increase it's size.

Open Event Viewer and look for errors right after your acad error occurs
(note the time of the error). Event Viewer can be found in Administrative
tools in Control Panel. Double click on any errors and check the
descriptions. There may be a clue there and possibly a helpful(?) ms link.

    Good Luck
    Pete

  3. I have this same issue, and I have plenty of RAM.
