error: bad function (AutoCAD 2002)

    recently i kept getting this message while i am using the express tools:

    Command: extrim
    Nested error trapping used incorrectly.
    Resetting nesting index to 1.; error: bad function: <Selection set: 1bc>


    thanks ahead for any help
