Envelopes for dresses patterns

Discussion in 'SolidWorks' started by Javier Rodriguez, Dec 15, 2003.

  1. Hello,

I need to create a display for the envelopes that contain dresses and
costume patterns for sewing. My problem is how to create the envelope
and also how to apply the text and pictures to the front of these
envelopes or pockets. Does anybody in this group have something
similar that I can use? or give me some tips. I would like to present
this client with an e-drawing of this display so it can be rotated
and viewed from any angle. But it can also be a photo rendering.
My SolidWorks background has been mostly with simple sheet metal parts.
Thanks in advance! Your help will be greatly appreciated.

it maybe just me but I am a bit confused about your 'envelopes or pockets'
description- as in you have made an assembly of sheetmetal parts to form a
garment and want to publish this as an edwg? you also want to publish flat
patterns of your parts but you want to include OLE sketches/photos/text?

  4. Deb,
If I apply the decals of the pictures to the 1/2 thick extrusion... would
the pictures show on an e-drawing? or I'd have to do a PhotoWorks rendering?
The original question regarding in how to make the "envelopes" was because I
was trying to make them close to the real thing, but I guess 1/2 extrusion
    should be realistic enough.

    Thank you!
