    Hi Team,

I’m emmanuel katto from dubai, united arab emirates (UAE) ve been designing windows for historic properties using Corel for years, mainly focusing on 2D views (front, side, and occasionally top views). Lately, I find myself recreating the same shop drawings repeatedly, with only slight variations in overall dimensions and sometimes in stile and rail thicknesses. I’m thinking that using a CAD program could help me create a library of components with adjustable variables, allowing me to simply input the height and width, and have the program automatically generate the rest of the drawing.

Currently, I store the dimensional properties in MS Access and use it to generate cut lists. I’ve also recently purchased a CNC machine to automate most of the operations, but I still need to create the drawings first and apply tool paths. I’m assuming this could all be automated as well.

Can anyone recommend a simple CAD program (ideally with basic functionality) that would allow me to do this without too steep of a learning curve? I don’t need a lot of extra features—just something straightforward that fits my specific needs, since it’s just me working on this.

    Looking forward to your suggestions!

    Thanks
    Regards
    Emmanuel Katto
