Education (ACES) Installation with Roaming Student Profiles

Discussion in 'AutoCAD' started by Scott Boudreau, Dec 11, 2004.

  1. After installing AutoCAD R2005 (ACES 6.0) in our CAD Labs at Joliet Junior
College, I noticed that everytime a student logs off a workstation and
another student logs in, AutoCAD goes back into a "Configuring Windows(tm)
process". Our student profiles are roaming and locked so students can't make
changes to the profile. All static based logins for administrators and the
CAD Manager don't act this way because their profiles don't delete from the
computer each time they log off. According to the stand-alone product
installation guideline the licenses are placed in the "All Users" folder.
The All Users folder also does not delete from the computer each time a user
logs off. Fact finding is underway.

Has any member of this newsgroup experienced problems with roaming profiles
after installation. After several methods of installation (including
installing AutoCAD as a student while the student's domain account is an
administrator on the local machine) we have isolated the problem to be
specific to roaming profiles. We are meeting for a brainstorming session and
the knowledge base of this newsgroup has always been an important component
    during the fact finding phase.

    Thanks.
