Is it possible to edit Excel BOM's in a separate Excel window? I'm sure I
used to be able to do this either by a checkbox or by right clicking but
can't find out how to do this in 2006.

I don't think you can do this. You can edit design tables in a new
    window, but not BOM's.

Not entirely sure how this is related to Excel "Bill of Materials" in
    SolidWorks?

Your memory is not failing you - it was possible to do this a few
    releases ago, but I can't remeber when :) - 2004 perhaps

In sw2006 I can't find the magic combinations of keystokes to do it
anymore. SW just don't seem to be able to stop fiddling !!

I hope someone can explain how it is done now,

Thanks for your reply Deb, it is appreciated. Could you let me know where
    the button is?

ie, when trying to edit an Excel BOM in Excel in a new window what button do
I push. Is it on the right mouse click menu, is there a setting in options?

If it still exists in SolidWorks 2006 I can't just can't find it.

Just to clarify I can edit the Excel BOM in Excel from within SolidWorks. I
want to open the Excel BOM in a seperate Excel Window as you can with Design
    Table.

there was a general option at one time. i believe with the advent of
solidworks bom in 2004, that this option was removed.

My VAR says this is not possible, he checked 2005 and 2006. One of us is
insane- not quite sure who at this stage as evidence for both possibities is
    freely available.
