Does anyone know how to develop a eccentric pipe reducer that is a solid
    using AutoCAD 2004?

    Thanks for any help

You'll have to use a program like MDT or Inventor to do it right and then
import it to AutoCAD. What you are trying to do is call a loft which AutoCAD
can't draw but can handle it.

I work in Surveying so I don't know what defines an "eccentric" reducer but
if you describe it I'll take a shot at it.

If you have them from the CD why would you want to re-create them. Why don't
    you check the dimensions first?

I see what you mean. Difficult to create in plain AutoCAD. I've done
concentric tapers. It could possibly be done by creating a hollow solid
cylinder - a pipe - with the hollow inside the diameter of the reduced
coupling and the outside the original diameter. Then maybe you could draw a
triangulate 3D polyline that would represent the portion of this cylinder
that would be taken away and extrude this halfway around the base of the
cylinder. You would have to calculate a Taper Angle that would make the
triangle disappear at the halfway point. then mirror the resultant solid and
subtract both of those from the cylinder. Maybe. Don't have time to play
    with in now.

What program was this created in. looks useful as i work in 3-d piping
layouts, just using plain AutoCAD and always have trouble with ecc. red.
they look awful are only accurate in overall length and dia.

    Anne,

I can see it in HTML. It's embedded in the message.

It is a fas program from Germany. Quite expensive.

P.S. this program produces either round to round or square to round solids.

Evidently you are not looking at replies - my program uses Autocad and
produces either round-to-round or round-to-square solids.

how expensive is expensive. does it have any other great features.

The author sent me a demo called xtornd-demo.fas several months ago, I think it's from BLACKCAD.com.

Okay, I finally got caught up and had a chance to do the eccentric reducers
last night. The file sizes are too big to post here so I posted them on my
    web site. I saved them in 2000, 2004 and MDT 2005 format - 2" - 14". I'll
repost with a new header so it will be easier to find in the future since
this one is going to get buried under about a thousand posts.
