I was trying to sell my Ustation 95 manuals on ebay.
Somebody from Bently Systems complained. I don't
understand. These were my property. Manuals are
sold all the time on ebay. Why the problem here.
    Anybody have a clue, because I don't.

    TIA,

    Dennis

They are not "your property". SOFTWARE and DOCUMENTATION *belong* to
Bentley. This is clearly stated in your license agreement which you
*agreed* to. You are allowed to use it, not sell it.

Read your license agreement closely. It's an interpetation issue. I
have heard of AutoDesk pulling stunts like this on Ebay users too.
Basically, YOU could fight a Bentley/AutoDesk on this issue but Ebay
won't touch it and since they control what gets listed on their site,
you'll have to find another means of selling your books. My personal
opinion is that since Bentley stopped delivering hard copies of
manuals with it's software and started selling them as books they
should no longer play the "or any portion of" card from their license
    agreement.

I agree with that. I did get a response from
Bentley Systems. Basically, it involved the End User Agrement, that
is signed when the software is purchased. The truth is,
I bought these manuals off a NG. I don't have my own
copy of Ustation. I use the system at my place of employment.
It is not 95, but now V8. They are nice manuals, but of no real
use to me since, as I said, we use V8 now.
    Anyway, it's not that important.
