dxf parser

Discussion in 'Cadence' started by Guenther Sohler, Sep 12, 2007.

  1. I intent is to get a chip package(DXF Format) somwhow into cadence,
in order to draw a bonding diagram

My plan is to parse the structure of the dxf and finally output skill code
    to draw layout.

Does anybody have experience parsing dxf data ?

What are your favourite approaches ?

I am not outputting skill code for the leadframes, I use LinkCad from
Bay Technologies to convert DXF to GDS then just stream them in.

    http://www.linkcad.com/site/linkcad

The cost is around $1K for a single Windows license.

The worst part is that most leadframe AutoCad drawings are drawn in
either inches or millimeters so you need to have and AutoCad
compatible CAD program to make adjustments to the drawing.
