Dwg Thumbnail Preview Colors....in r2004..!?

I have a few programs that access the drawing thumbnail bitmap and all works fine. However, since I installed 2004 on my machine, the bitmaps for drawings saved in 2004 version appear different. The background show up as white...regardless if your cad background is black or anyother color. Is there a setting for that?

I'm using the "AutoCAD DwgThumbnail Control" for this.

The autocad "OPEN" command displays it without the white background.....so I'm thinking I'm not approaching this the right way.

When I preview a 2002 or earlier saved drawing, the preview is displayed just as the drawing was last displayed. But with 2004 save drawings....background is white.

Any suggestions would help and thanks in advance.
