Anyone know of a program to recover dwg file. Acad recover does not do it.

Unless the drawing is really trashed, Microstation and/or IntelliCAD
will usually open a .DWG that AutoCAD refuses to open.

If neither of those is an option for you:

+ maybe someone here will volunteer to try and recover for you using
    above program or something else.
+ If you have AutoCAD Map, try querying in certain parts of the bad
drawing into a new empty one.
+ Use Designcenter to import blocks, layouts, etc.
+ Insert the bad drawing into a new empty drawing, then explode.
    + See http://www.intelcad.com/pages/dwgfix/index.htm

Tried Intellicad? It will open a lot of files that Autocad won't.
