dta storage

    Hi all,

    does anyone know whether software like catia or solidworks use
    commercial DBMS or inhouse "databases" for storing data? I guess they
    use commercial ones, but I really wonder what kind of databases they
    use... Are both CAD and finite element data saved in the same storage
    scheme? Any guidance will be appreciated!!!!
