driving paterns

    I'm trying to drive a linear patern from a design table or an equation is
    this possible ie: varying the # treads in a set of stairs from out side the
    feature controll spin box .

  2. Yes, it is possible. I have just such a model I use to have
    industrial steel stairs custom fabricated for my customers. I use a
    liner feature pattern and an equation that calculates the number of
    treads from the total rise. I have a variable that is mapped to the
    number of copies the pattern is to consist of but I can't find how I
    did this. I seem to remember that I somehow got an anotation on the
    model for how many copies there were. I was able to use its name just
    like a dimentions name to refer to it in an equation. I too would
    like a dialog box off to one corner that would let me enter the total
    rise and the total run but I haven't figured that part out yet.
