Is there any way of entering co-ordinates for a line starting point and
ending point similar to what is done in autocad?

    Sure.

After you choose the Line tool, type R (Relative Coordinate Dialog Box), click the
A icon in the screen (for Absolute Coordinates) and enter the start point in the
X-Y coordinate boxes (Use the Tab key to alternate between them). Click Enter.
    That fixes the start point.

The Coordinate dialog box should still be open. Enter the end point of the line in
those same boxes. Click Enter again and the line appears.

When you get used to the program you'll find that it isn't really necessary most
times to pin the line or object at a specific position on the drawing page, rather
entities or objects should more properly be placed relative to one another, no
matter where they appear on the page. You can always jostle your entire drawing
(by scaling or moving) so it will print properly.

And watch the Status Bar at the bottom of the screen, it tells you what the
program is expecting you to do next. Follow those directions and you won't go wrong.

Lastly, it pays to use your name here, more personal, along with your real addy.

That was a nifty reply! How come now of youse complimented me on my concise and
proper direction? Not even Paul commented. Is he here anymore? I mean how can I
get my rocks off insulting him if he never shows up?

    <sigh>

Sorry Harvey. Busy weekend here in New England.

Good advice. However he could just type A for Absolute. I agree that
at first this seems useful but rarely use it now. Most things snap to a
line point (End, Mid point, Near, etc.) or Relative to something.
