When I draw inside a 3d model (2d visual style), AutoCAD now tries to
guess which plane I'm intending to draw in.

Is there any way to switch off this 'helpful feature'.

---- what would be the porpus of turning coordinats off , will that
solve the problem ? -- that case let's hope there are no need to have
    coords on.

I would suggest simply typing .xy before the first point , and then
answer the z value as zero. if it's 2D functions they all will follow
    the first z value input.
