Downloading when opening a file

Discussion in 'AutoCAD' started by Koen Mulderij, Feb 4, 2004.

  1. Hi,

I'm using Autocad LT 2002 and when I open a file, Autocad starts to
download something from the internet. It flashes by, but it's says
    something about LiveEnabler.asp.
What might this be, can I do without it and most of all where can I turn it
    of?

    Thanks in advance, Koen

To the best of my knowledge, LiveEnable looks for data in the drawing that
may require help from Autodesk in order to view it. It communicates with
Autodesk over the internet, scans your drawing database, and if it finds
proxy objects, it checks to see if they are already supported, and if not,
it downloads the object enablers required for you to work with the proxy
    objects.

In Full AutoCAD, you can disable this feature in Tools;Options;System;Live
Enabler Options. I do not know if this is possible in LT.

  3. Thanks it's there in LT as well.
But I still think it's stange that ACAD keeps downloading. Doesn't it save
    the objects it downloads?
