"Document properties" default settings in SW2004

Discussion in 'SolidWorks' started by Joni Paivinen, Aug 6, 2004.

  1. Does anyone know how to change default document settings in SW2004?

For example the default arrow type is white on the inside with black
outlines. I would like to have it all black. When I change this to one
document, I'll have to do it again in next.

I have done several sheet format -templates in SW and when I change
this information (arrow, fonts, lines, etc.) and "save sheet format".
Program does not save this changes that I made. Is it possible at all?

Hopefully someone understands all this and have somekind of solution..

Make the settings and save as a template. Use that template next time you
want to use the settings on a new drawing. Help has stuff on templates.

Please note that sheet formats and file templates are seperate files.
Like Matt said, change the template file (.drwdot), not the sheet format
    file (.slddrw)

  4. Thanks to all of you.

Problem solved. I modified the "draw.drwdot" file but for some reason
I allways opened draw-file in "Templates" tab instead of opening it in
"Tutorial" tab. Now its working like I wanted.. ;)

    Thanks!

    Best regards,
    Joni

  5. If you want to also "fix" the standard templates, the default location is
    similar to this: C:\Program Files\SolidWorks2004\data\templates.
