Do plot - Don't display

In my (incomplete) application I am putting a watermark with the drawings it produces that says "Draft" which looks good on the plot, but on the screen it tends to be a bit obtrusive. I know it's possible on a layout to specify an item will not plot, but I was wondering if there is a way to do the reverse, ie have it show up on the plot but not have it display in the drawing.

    Thanks

you might be able to hide it by making it a color close to your background screen and sending it to the back or xrefing it in as an overlay so it's not selectable. Or changing the visibility until it's about to be plotted.

guess i was wrong about not selectable... how would one make an xref not selectable?

  4. Wayne -

Why not put it on a layer, have the layer Off by default but turn On at
    the time of plotting?
