Displaying Linetype 'appearance' in dialog

I have written a routine which identifies non AutoCAD linetypes and allows the user to convert them via a dialog box. I would like to display the appearance of the current linetype to help the user identify the closest standard linetype. I could use vector_image in an image tile but can see no way of extracting a non ACAD linetype definition (i.e. Its not in a .lin file).

    Any Ideas?

    Thanks
