We have a large client who has supplied us with a program the checks dwgs for compliance to their standards. It is not the AutoDesk standards checker, it is 3rd party software written specifically for them. When it checks a drawing with dimensions it will fail on the bylayer check. so I created a new file, double check dim style for: dim lines color and lineweight ByLayer extension lines color and lineweight ByLayer Text color Bylayer closed filled arrowheads I then place 10 dimensions when I run the check it states that 30 elements do not have color/linetype/lineweight ByLayer note that it does not tell me which property is not ByLayer. If I explode the dimensions it will pass the checker, but if I'm going to explode dimensions I may as well go back to pen and mylar. This is on Acad 2002 I'm assuming the 3rd party program is incorrectly finding errors, but I need to see if any you people have any insight before I explain to the client that the errors are not really errors.
