I am looking for the proper way to dimension a pentagon.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,

What discipline are you working in? The answer might be different for, say,
a pentagonal room in a set of architectural plans than it would be for a
machine part or some other field.

BUT ... assuming, of course, you're speaking of a *regular* pentagon, I'd
probably show it inscribed in a circle, then dimension the radius of the
circle, with a note that the angles between vertices are five equal angles
    of 72 deg.

  3. Dimension the defining circle and it's center.
That would be a circle tangent to each flat.
Then if you need an angular reference to one of the flats as a starting
    point.

I can, without any really good qualifications, imagine it depending to some
degree on what the use of the pentagon is or how it is to be constructed.

For example, if there are to be rafters from the center to the points or
from the center to the edge midpoint, if somebody is going to be laying
    block along an edge...
