I have a line for example. I want to dimension it, and then I want that dimension to be 3’ away from the line I just dimensioned. So I do dimlinear, then I pick one end of the line, then the other end. Now I'm given the option to "specify dimension line locationâ€. So I drag the dimension in the direction I want it to be, and type 3', then hit enter. But it doesn’t end up at 3' away from the line I'm dimensioning. Sometimes it's 2'-10", sometimes, 3'-2 1/2", sometimes 2'-9 1/4", it's always a different distance away from the line every time I try it. What’s up with that, and how do I fix it.

    thanks

    btw, I’m using acad2002
