Difference between STB and CTB

Discussion in 'AutoCAD' started by David M. Gardner, Dec 10, 2004.

  1. What is the difference between a stb and a ctb file? And how do you switch from one to the other in a drawing?

These are two file types that control your pen settings when plotting. The STB is an older type I believe was orginally designed for use with old pen plotters in mind. The CTB is designed to be used with more modern tech.

To switch between the two use the convertpstyles command.

    Got it backwards.
    CTB is 'old school'.
STB is 'new tech', (and 95%± implemented)

Yeah you are right. It is getting harder to keep track of all the different
software and the changes. AutoCAD, Map, ArcView, ArcGIS,
    Microstation........

My brain is begining to hurt.
