DGN view to PDF

Discussion in 'Microstation' started by wilson.pickett, Mar 9, 2007.

  1. I have 8,000 views in several thousand DGNs to extract to PDF. My
first tests show that even manually in V8, some texts take on what
seems to be a random thickness. By that I mean, that when printed, a
text that is alwasy weight 0 in the DGN sometimes is bolder which is a
deal breaker. I'm trying to troubleshoot this now, but in the meantime
I am looking for products or possibly services that could do the
    following:

Following some kind of script, open a DGN, go to X,Y, "snapshot" an
area writing the elements to a PDF. Move to next X,Y on the list until
there are no more. Close file and move to next DGN.

What products might be of use in this and are there "service shops"
that would do it this kind of thing?
Please contact me of post here, I'm all ears.

    thx

It seems to me what you need is to get the lastest version of adobe
pdf plot driver for v8.5 and then set up a print shape and place it in
all the models, and then use batch plot, have it plot to shape and
check all models for that shape.... or something...
