Detect UNC paths in drawing

Discussion in 'AutoCAD' started by James Maeding, Oct 6, 2004.

  1. We just cut off our old project file server and now ceratin drawings load really slowly.
Its odd because I can open a given drawing, but when I xref it, things go really slow.

I am thinking there has to be UNC paths somewhere in the trouble drawings because if I block the entities to a new
    drawing, the problems go away.

Does anyone have a tool to look for UNC paths ina a drawing?

I checked the obvious - xrefs and images - not sure where else to look.
Everything I know of does not have full paths, fonts and resource files...
    thanks

  2. I should mention Toolpac has the ideal tool for this, its Toolpac->Drawing->Search

I tried it and looked for the old server name with no luck.
So I thought to ask for more advice...
Maybe its not the unc path, very odd.

  4. sure, I put it in customer files (or will in a second), look for "Nammu server" in header
the server name we got rid of was called \\nammu.
    thanks

  6. James, it should be easy to fix with the external program Reference Manager
    (A2k4-5).
