designjet 500 plotting twice everytime

Discussion in 'AutoCAD' started by Shane MacIntyre, Jul 23, 2003.

  1. Everytime I send a plot to my hp designjet 500 in autocad 2002 using windows
xp pro os, It sends two plots to the que. Only one prints and the other
gives a "failed to print" pop up. It also makes the processing time from
acad to the que twice as long.
Anyone know how to fix this?

    Similar setup
We plot from model space, changing layers for different sheets.
It takes alot longer than with Win 98.
The dialogs for hp shows up before the dialog from acad is finished.
2 plot jobs show up in the plotter window, only one plots.
If I send several pages in quick succession, each will have 2 jobs listed.
the bubble pops up and says a print job failed, but all sheets print.
If I select print multiple copies. each has 2 listings, each print once.
Haven't tried multiple PS tabs at one time.

So the double listing isnt because multiple copies are selected.
Of the 2 listings only one seems to have the status indicator that says:
    spooling, printing etc.

I saw the size is about 107 KB , doesnt sound too large, but printing is
    slow.

(if you use a PC3 file, check it too). Basically, look everywhere on all
your settings, custom plot routines, everything to find the reference and
    change it.
HP500 under WinXP does not do more than one print at a time. See if HP's
dicussion areas are reporting any fixed.
