Designjet 430 output always A4

  1. Hi all,

I'm ready to scream - I've got myself a HP DesignJet 430 A1 printer. Using
Autocad 2002 I've tried to output A1 drawings. They seem to be obsessed
    with being scaled to A4.

The drawing is A1, the HP430(A1) print driver settings are for A1. The
output is scaled to A4. There was one exception when a plot was truncated.
As the output progressed the truncation became less but never reached the
    entire width of the paper.

This is driving me nuts. I'm new to Autocad2002 and the DesignJet but I've
been writing software for 25 years. I should be able to get this to work.

I believe there is the possibility to use the printer or the PC's memory for
the output rendering. No idea how to control that. Is that important?

Words of wisdom will be very welcome.

    TIA,

    Simon G

  2. I've fixed the problem. The HP driver had been installed on a remote
Win2000 Workstation (filling in as a print spooler) and the printer added to
the XP Pro workstation running AutoCad 2002. Later I relocated the
DesignJet 430 to a local position and connected it to the XP Pro system
directly and altered the printer config so it was a local printer. In
desperation I removed this remote-then-local printer from my XP Pro system
and reinstalled it with the HP driver on the AutoCad 2002 disks. After that
    it worked ok.

Whether the issue was the remote spooler installed driver or the version
from the AutoCAD disks is not clear. However it's working fine now so I'm
    pleased.

    Regards
