Design table problems

Discussion in 'SolidWorks' started by Mickey Reilley, Dec 15, 2003.

  1. I'm running 2004 SP1 but I've had this same problem with every version since
2001+: When I'm working on a design table (or any embedded Excel
spreadsheet) I can't access the dropdown lists at the top of the screen
(File, Edit, View, etc.). I click the button but the lists don't show up.
Usually this isn't a problem because I can right click in the Excel window
to get my command, but sometimes the command I need is only available in the
    dropdowns.

I'm assuming this has something to do with a honked-up Excel install? How
    do I fix this?

If its a spreadsheet/design table embedded in a draw, right click on the
spreadsheet and select "edit with worksheet". If its a part or assembly
right click on the design table icon in the feature tree and select "edit
with worksheet". Both these actions will fire up Excel and give you access
to all the commands. Just remember to save before closing Excel.
