Is there a way to delete blocks? I have several in one drawing that are
    just cluttering things up.

    Thanks

Delete the blocks you don't want to retain OR if you want to keep them
for future use, WBLOCK them to a location you can remember.

Once the blocks are deleted or moved, SAVE the drawing file.

THEN, run the PURGE command several times until no unused blocks
appear on the command line (assuming you verify each item to be
    purged).

    Save the drawing again.

Shortcut: Delete the blocks; them WBLOCK the entire drawing out to
it's own file name. This strips out everything that's not being used.
In version 2002, use the -W command or AutoCad won't let you save the
drawing to the same name. This is a DUHHHH! feature they built in to
    2002.
