Default Linetype file and hatch pattern file

Discussion in 'AutoCAD' started by Marcel Goulet, Jul 27, 2004.

  1. Hi,

If I want to use as a default the aaaaa.lin linetype file instead of acad.lin, and same thing for the hatch pattern file, how can I do that ?

    Thanks

  2. One simple way that I've used is to rename acad.lin to something like
acadORIG.lin, and acad.pat to acadORIG.pat (so you don't lose them), and put
your "aaaaa" files in that location under the "acad" names.

or can you also just put your paths to your .lin and .pat files higher up in
the list of support files so it finds those files before it finds
    acad.lin????
not positive but i thought acad would just use the first .lin and .pat file
    it finds regardless of name
    am I mistaken on that?

like findfile will go through a path and find the first occurance in order
    of searching
