data exchange SolidWorks to pro/ENGINEER

Discussion in 'SolidWorks' started by Andi\(remove remove\), Aug 21, 2007.

  1. Hello!

One of our customers needs Pro/E native 3D data from us INCLUDING the
feature tree. Is there anything available to convert the SWX features to
    Pro/ENGINEER?
    Experiences?

    Best wishes,
    Andreas

The easiest way, (without features) is the saveas a Proe prt file.

Check this pdf on references... http://www.proe.com/specialreports/2006_DTransGuide_0426.pdf

I personally have not seen or used a file translation package that can
do this but you might try the above to see who, if anyone, is doing
    this?

Let us know if you do/can do this with one of the above?

Otherwise, if the geometry is simple, and your client has jumped onto
WF 4.0,... they now have some sort of FeatureWorks (it maybe Feature
    Works?) functionality.

    ...

Unreasonable?? Ever work for one of the big automotive companies at
the tier one level? You have no option. Work with GM, use UG, work
with DCX, use Catia. Unreasonable, maybe, but that is the way it is.
I've never worked with a customer that said Pro-E or the highway, but
there were several who pushed real hard for it.
