Data Error on a DesignJet 430

This office I am working with has a monochrome Designjet 430. It is an old
piece o' ****, but a workhorse. Anyway, when plotting cover sheets and
general notes pages, it gets a data error, and sometimes drops whole areas
of text. Currently it is processing the print job in the printer, not the
computer. I am wondering, has anyone seen this? Is slower printing with
computer processing better? The print job takes a crazy long time anyway. Or
    is there another answer?

    Best,

Well, I tried processing in Computer, not in Plotter, to no avail. I also
tried using an SHX font instead of TT, just out of curiosity. Still a no go.

    Anyone have any ideas?

    go.

Well, it seems to get things to process 'in Computer' you have to change the
setting on the local printer, not just the network share. Once I do that, my
nasty text plots go thru fine.
So, I think I have two options. Have the user manually change the processing
in the PC3 file when they have problems, or create two PC3s, one for
processing 'in Plotter' for general use, and one for processing 'in
    Computer' for problem plots.
Anyone done this? Any issues to be aware of? Or a better answer? Other than
a new plotter, of course ;)

    Thanks,
    Gordon
