Dat files

    files (i.e DCL Files;DAT Files;etc)............."
    Anybody know what function of "DAT Files",can you explain to me,thanks

    Once upon a time a few programs in the old DOS days used .DAT extensions for their DATA Files. But from the ACAD2004 help files:

    You can name the license file in any way, but you must save the file with a .lic or a .dat extension.

    So it is assumed that AUTOCAD recognises this file as a license file.
    On the other hand, another Application may recognise it as something completely different.
    Like SCR for scripts and Screen Savers
