Darker format printing?

Discussion in 'SolidWorks' started by Bernd Hoffmann, Feb 12, 2004.

  1. New to SW. Just starting. My boss does not like the light lines in the
format that comes with SW. Can not seem to find a way to darken them.

  2. If you mean the weight of the lines in a drawing, you can go to
Tools/Options/Document Properties/Line font and set the various objects to
heavier. If that's not it, come back.

Oh, by the way, welcome to SolidWorks & this newsgroup. :)

  3. Thanks for the welcome. The Line font does not seem to list the linetype
used in the format boarder & title box.

  5. Try this. Open a drawing template. RMB and select edit sheet format. All
the lines and text on the sheet should now be blue and selectable. Select
all the lines you would like to make heavier. Now select the line thickness
icon found on the line format toolbar. Select the thickness you would like
and apply. Your selected lines should now be thicker. You can also change
color and layer here if you like. RMB and select edit sheet. All the lines
are now black and unselectable. At this point I would save this as a custom
sheet format so all your drawings are like this. Print and adjust if
    necessary.

Also make sure to change to Page Setup to print in Black and White and not
Automatic or Color/Grayscale. That will make the lines black no matter how
    thick.
